4.05.2026(주일) 그리스도 안에서 모든 사람이 살아난다! (고전 15:16-22)
죄는 교만과 거짓과 시기, 질투, 근심, 걱정, 불평, 불만을 더할 뿐입니다. 죄는 우리에게 아픔과 슬픔, 상처를 더해 의욕과 소망과 자유를 빼앗아 무력하게 합니다. 누구든지 죄해결을 받지 못하면 하나님 나라에 가지 못합니다. 그래서 예수의 부활은 우리에게 새 삶의 의미를 줍니다.
1. 예수의 죽음과 부활은 반드시 나의 체험이 되어야 한다. 성경은 이 사람 저 사람을 증거하지 않고 오직 예수만을 증거합니다. 예수는 하나님의 사랑을 십자가로 증명했습니다. 예수의 십자가의 고난과 영광을 모르면 하나님의 사랑을 알 수 없습니다.
“우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에게 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라” (롬 5:8). 그러므로 예수를 믿는다는 것은 십자가를 통해 하나님을 사랑을 믿는 것입니다. 우리를 향한 하나님의 사랑은 예수를 믿어 영생을 얻게 하십니다!
“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는 자마다 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라” (요 3:16). 철이 철을 날카롭게 하듯이 사람도 친구의 얼굴을 빛나게 합니다 (잠 27:17). 정신이 깨어있는 사람과 함께 있으면 점진적으로 나의 생각도 깨어있게 됩니다.
2. 아버지의 사랑 곧 예수의 피로 하나님과 가까와진다. (1) 예수의 피로 죄사함을 얻는다! 죄는 하나님의 사랑과 은혜, 거룩함에서 분리되는 것을 의미합니다. “우리가 그리스도 안에서 그의 은혜의 풍성함을 따라 그의 피로 말미암아 구속 곧 죄 사함을 받았으니” (엡 1:7).
(2) 예수의 피로 망령된 행실에서 구속받는다! “너희가 알거니와 너희 조상의 유전한 망령된 행실에서 구속된 것은 은이나 금같이 없어질 것으로 한 것이 아니요 오직 흠 없고 점 없는 어린 양 같은 그리스도의 보배로운 피로 한 것이니라” (벧전 1:18-19).
(3) 예수의 피로 의롭다 하심을 얻는다! “우리가 그 피를 인하여 의롭다 하심을 얻었은즉 더욱 그로 말미암아 진노하심에서 구원을 얻을 것이니” (롬 5:9). (4) 예수의 피로 하나님과 가까워진다! “이제는 전에 멀리 있던 너희가 그리스도 예수안에서 그리스도의 피로 가까와졌느니라”(엡 2:13).
사랑하는 여러분, 우리는 예수의 피로 경건하고 의롭게 된 거에요. 하나님과 가까와진 사람 곧 주 안에 있는 사람은 무엇을 하든지 주의 영광을 위해서 하는 것이며, 이전과 다른 삶의 모습으로 살아야 합니다. “먹든지 마시든지 무엇을 하든지 다 하나님의 영광을 위하여 하라” (고전 10:31).
노아 때 사람들은 먹고 마시고 시집가고 장가가면서 자기를 위해서 살았습니다. 주변의 사람들을 생각하지 않고 자신만을 위했습니다. 그러나 예수를 만난 사람은 하나님을 위해서 사는 거잖아요? 그렇습니다. 말씀을 믿는 사람들은 하나님의 영광을 위해 성별된 특별한 사람들입니다.
3. 예수의 십자가를 체험한 사람은 하나님을 기쁘시게 한다. 예수와 함께 죽고 예수와 함께 살아난 사람이 하나님을 인격적으로 아는 거에요. 하나님은 영이시기 때문에 성경을 통해서만 인격적으로 알 수 있게 하셨습니다. 왜냐하면 성경은 하나님의 언약이기 때문입니다.
성경은 타락한 인류를 향하신 하나님의 사랑의 역사를 예수로 증거한 언약입니다. 성경의 글 속에 영이 있기 때문에 믿음이 아니면 하나님을 알 수가 없는 거에요. 성경을 ‘신실하게’ 믿으면 하나님을 만날 수 있고 그 분을 기쁘시게 할 수 있습니다. 하나님을 사랑하면 이웃을 사랑합니다!
“믿음이 없이는 기쁘시게 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할찌니라” (히 11:6). 우리가 앞날을 알 수 없지만 믿음으로 하나님의 일을 하는 것이며, 그 길이 환난 중에 있어도 말씀만을 붙들고 가는 것입니다.
4. 마지막 때에 열방을 살리는 것이 하나님을 기쁘시게 한다. 하나님의 구원을 받은 자는 새 삶으로 하나님을 섬깁니다! 하나님을 믿는 것을 하나님을 섬김으로 증명하는 거에요. 무늬만 교회를 왔다 갔다 하는 것이 아니라 하나님의 사랑의 깊이를 만나야 합니다.
예수님의 고난의 깊이를 알고 우리를 위해 행하신 사랑을 진정으로 깨닫는다면 믿음으로 살 뿐입니다. 믿음으로 하면 우리의 무너졌던 모든 것들이 다시 세워지는 거에요. 분리되고 무너진 하나님과의 관계가 회복됩니다. 그리스도의 피로 인해 우리는 그의 지혜과 능력으로 사는 것입니다!
“하물며 영원하신 성령으로 말미암아 흠 없는 자기를 하나님께 드린 그리스도의 피가 어찌 너희 양심으로 죽은 행실에서 깨끗하게 하고 살아계신 하나님을 섬기게 못하겠느뇨” (히 9:14). 하나님은 중심을 보시잖아요? 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것은 오직 복음을 전하는 것입니다.
그렇습니다. 하나님의 옳게 여기심을 받는 길이 복음 전파에 있습니다. “오직 하나님의 옳게 여기심을 입어 복음 전할 부탁을 받았으니 우리가 이와 같이 말함은 사람을 기쁘게 하려 함이 아니요 오직 우리 마음을 감찰하시는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하려 함이라” (살전 2:4).
구속 교훈 열방을 살리는 사역은 전도 곧 복음 전파로 시작합니다. 바리새인은 성경을 잘 알고 논리적으로 말을 했으나 주님은 외식하는 자들이라고 책망하셨습니다. “무엇이든지 저희의 말하는 바는 행하고 지키되 저희의 하는 행위는 본받지 말라 저희는 말만 하고 행치 아니하며” (마 23:3).
전도는 말씀을 전하는 것만이 아니라 ‘말씀을 실천하는 생활’이 실제적 복음 전파입니다! 우리 각자가 그리스도를 실천해야 합니다! 그래야 교회가 튼튼합니다. 마지막 때 어린 양과 동행하는 144,000은 영생이 이루기까지 하나님께 영광돌리며 열방을 살리는 사명에 충성합니다!
“그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아 잠자는 자들의 첫 열매가 되셨도다 사망이 사람으로 말미암았으니 죽은 자의 부활도 사람으로 말미암는도다 아담 안에서 모든 사람이 죽은 것 같이 그리스도 안에서 모든 사람이 삶을 얻으리라” (고전 15:20-22).
3.29.2026(Palm Sunday) The Aroma of Jerusalem! (Jn 12:13)
1. The Breath of Life Entered Through the Nose. Since man was created in the image of God, he is a being that bears the likeness of God. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Ge 1:27). Therefore, when a man exists merely as dust, he is ‘not yet’ the image of God.
It is because beasts, too, were created from the ground (Ge 2:19). Only when he received the “breath of life,” the man who had been mere dust became a living soul, that is, a living being. “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (Ge 2:7). It is the fact that God breathed the breath of life into man through his nostrils.
2. Scent Signifies Discernment. The main functions of the nose are breathing and smelling. The common thing between breathing and smelling is that both are related to ‘timing.’ Isaac smelled his son and blessed him. “Caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said, ‘Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the LORD has blessed’” (Ge 27:27).
(1) A scent indicates the time. Dogs do not have a concept of time, but they sense their owner’s arrival by their scent. The scent of the Lord is His fragrance, and it signifies the Lord’s time. (2) You praise the Lord through discernment. Through discernment, we come to praise the Lord. When the time comes, you realize who your Master is, and when you come to know the Lord, you praise Him.
For it is said that everyone who breathes should praise God (Ps 150:6). If we are able to breathe, then we should praise God. Even mere animals can recognize their master by scent; how much more, then, should man, made in the very image of God, come to know Him through His wisdom and power and praise Him?
3. The Scent of Palm Trees! The first day of Passion Week was Sunday, and the Lord entered Jerusalem riding on a young donkey to fulfill the Scriptures. “This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet ‘Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey’” (Mt 21:4-5).
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, vast crowds welcomed Him, waving palm branches. “They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, ‘Hosanna!’ ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ‘Blessed is the king of Israel!’” (Jn 12:13). On that day, Jerusalem was filled with a fragrant scent.
Because,the palm tree carries the scent of fragrant oil and fruit. The fruit of the palm tree has a taste as sweet as honey. The fragrance of the palm branches is like the ‘scent of apples’ (Ss 7:8). Because so many people waved palm branches, Jerusalem was filled with the fragrant scent of fruit that day.
4. The Palm Tree Symbolizes the Righteous and the Overcomer. (1) The righteous flourish like a palm tree. “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon” (Ps 92:12). “To flourish” in Hebrew is parach meaning “to break forth, to burst forth.”
“Should I go or stay? Should I do it or give it up?” Everyone faces such dilemmas, but to fulfill God’s will, the righteous press forward, breaking through obstacles and circumstances. The righteous overcome through faith to fulfill the mission entrusted to them by God, and they do what is pleasing to Him.
(2) Palm branches symbolize victory. In the last days, those who stand before the Lamb are holding palm branches. “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands” (Rev 7:9).
With these palm branches, they give glory to God and to the Lamb. “And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb’” (Rev 7:10). As we can see here, the palm branches extend from the first coming all the way to the second coming.
This is because the palm tree symbolizes the overcomer who overcomes adversity among all trees. Just as God chose the palm tree, He has chosen us though we are weak and lacking to reveal His greatness, His divinity, and His character. Therefore, we are a special people.
The Redemptive Lesson The spiritual palm branch signifies the fragrance of Christ namely, eternal life. (1) The 144,000 who have received the seal of God are the fragrance of knowing Christ! The righteous person is a conqueror in Christ. They know Christ, and they spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ. Knowing God is eternal life (Jn 17:3).
If we know God according to the Bible, isn’t it only natural to know how you should live? Our lives should be filled with the fragrance of knowing God. “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere” (2 Co 2:14).
(2) The 144,000, who follow the Lamb wherever He leads, are the fragrance of Christ! The 144,000 are those who follow the Lamb. “For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing” (2 Co 2:15).
(3) The 144,000 who sing the new song are the fragrance of life. “To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?” (2 Co 2:16). The 144,000 are those who share eternal life, which is the essence of God’s Gospel.
(4) The 144,000 spread the fragrance of eternal life on Mount Zion! At the first coming, the Lamb of God transformed sinners into the righteous. Beloved brothers and sisters, at the second coming, the Lamb of God brings about the transformation of the righteous into eternal life. The 144,000 learn the new Word of redemption, and as they teach and proclaim it, they lead others to share in eternal life.
Just as Jerusalem was filled with the fragrant scent of fruit at the time of the first coming, Mount Zion will be filled with the proclamation, reception, and victory of the new song at the time of the second coming. “And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth” (Rev 14:3).
